an extremely moisturizing creamSep 18, 2010
By Michael D Matthews TOBS is well known in the shaving community for being one of the better high end creams. Compared to others like Trufitt and Hill and Geo F Trumpers, TOBS is actually a good value. As with other good creams, it produces a good, long-lasting, slick lather very quickly. The major attribute I like about the avocado is it's moisturizing properties. My skin feels noticeably softer for the rest of my day. In fact, you could probably get away with not using any kind of balm after a shave. The only knock on this cream is the scent. Some people find it a little offputting, but I love it. It does not smell like avocado. It smells a bit earthy with a pleasant citrus tone. I would definitely buy this cream again.

Excellent lather, very strong scent.Mar 13, 2011
By Setesh This product lathers extremely well indeed. It not only forms a good lather quickly, but the lather is reasonably slick as well. This cream also leaves my skin feeling much more moisturized than the Proraso I normally use. The only problem I have with it is the smell. I have a 2200 sq ft house and the master bath is at one end of it. After I shave with this you can smell it in the back 1/3 of the house for about an hour, it's that strong. The smell also stays on me for most of the day. The scent smells almost exactly like the 'ocean' scented incense sticks you can buy. My wife loves the smell and doesn't find it annoying, but it gets to me after a while. Maybe I am just especially sensitive to this scent? All in all, it's a great product as far as the shave goes, but for me I just can't take the potency and staying power of the scent. YMMV.
***Edit*** After using this for 4 days it started giving me a rash on my neck. I gave it 6 days to see if it was a temporary thing, but it just kept getting worse. I've been back to Proraso sensitive skin for the last 2 days and the rash is pretty much gone. Those with sensitive skin may want to look elsewhere.

Makes you smell like a rich mobster. In a good way.Mar 27, 2010
By John V. Papageorgiou I love this stuff. Goes on smooth, works into a huge lather with ease and leaves you reeking of class and power. As much as (...) bucks worth of shaving cream can, at least.
Everything it was cracked up to beOct 22, 2011

Using this rich, lightly scented cream with a cheap badger hair brush from Tweezerman (Tweezerman Men's Shaving Brush) was enough to revolutionize my shaving. A tiny bit of this stuff is enough, and if I get it just right I can lather up twice without using very much. The first day I smelled the cream on my face all day, but then I got used to it. I actually wish I hadn't! It was very pleasant.
