• Twin blades shave you twice with each stroke eliminating irritating repeat strokes for a faster shave than with a double edge blade
• The pivoting head automatically follows the contours of your face so you don't have to. This keeps the blades at the optimal angle to reduce nicks, cuts and missed spots.
• The lubricating strip activates when wet, reducing pulling and skin irritation for a smoother more comfortable shave.

very good razorJan 21, 2010
By Scott Gibson I purchased the gillette vector plus razor at amazon and was very pleased with it. I am glad they made this vector razor because they do not make the other old all metal gillette atra handle anymore. If you find the metal one online it is very pricey and the vector is a better buy and it does what the old atra handle does.so the men with many atra blade cartridges like me and cant find the old atra handle get the gillette vector handle instead. The same thing but less expensive, and fits all atra blade cartridges. worth the buy!

Excellent Razors for an Excellent Blade!!Sep 19, 2009

Very happy with my purchase. I have ordered and received these Atra replacement razor handles from both of the sellers shown on Amazon (as of this review date), and they have both delivered in rapid time. I have always been happy with Atra cartridge blades, and I see no reason to start paying double for currently offered blades, just because the various razor blade companies have colluded to price-fix the market to only offer higher priced products in the United States. I stock up on generic blades every time I find them on sale, and now I'm stocking up on extra Atra razor handles. Thanks! (NOTE: It looks like these Atra Razor Handles are manufactured for an overseas market, since several languages are printed on the package. But the quality is still there.)

Fair value for the priceFeb 08, 2010

After a long search of the web this razor handel was one of the few choices for those who want to use the atra style razor blade. I bought it bacause the springs in my old atra (better made solid steel) razor were weakening and not holding the cartridge well.
Gillette has refused to sell this style handel in the US as it moves to extract money from us. I refuse to have money extorted from me for something as simple as razor blades. (25$ plus for ten blades is insane)
I have found that Dollar General Stores in my area sell a very inexpensive cartridge fitting the Track II and Atra cartridges. Cheaper than the store brands at Rexall and Rite-Aid
(Inexpensive cartrides are being made in the world! it is just finding them)
I have since then found that there are some options if one wants to buy a razor for the track II style. [...]
I have also moved into using an injector blade that I am very happy with.
Even cheaper than Atra and Track II and get a good shave.
The injector razor is available on the net, a replica of the old shick injector. Works great and more green that the plastic cartridges.
The vector is a great razor for the price. Has a plastic handel, but fair weight. Superior to the disposables throw aways they are forcing you to buy if you do not get the high end triple bladed cartrides.

Great Merchant, Almost Equally Great Product!Jul 27, 2010

"Impossible Discounts" makes it "Possible"!
I had become upset when after my old "Atra" from about 15 years ago had been dropped and banged too many times to the point where I felt it was time to purchase a new one, only to discover to my horror that not only is "Atra" not being produced anymore (or so I then thought), but I was expected to be *FORCED* into buying these gawdy ostentatious "4-blade" systems which are so blamed expensive that the department stores are securing them away under lock & key (no dummies, they... OF COURSE something that now costs on average between $2.50 - $3.65 PER CARTRAGE is definitely going to lead to *THEFTS* of the product -- did Gillette and Schick not understand that this would happen ahead of time before they chose to "eliminate" all of our classic "twin blade" alternatives in favor of exposing just how shameless and GREEDY they truly are?)
Anyway, it didn't quite add up to me that "Atra" was no longer being produced, since I can go to the same department store and buy the same cheap no-name "store brand" razor cartrages I've always purchased because I found that they actually work better than the "Gillette" brand-name of the identical product (...and for a lot less cost, I might add). So something wasn't right! If my local department store routinely stocks up on the "Atra-compatible" cartrages, then that tells me that there are still *PLENTY* of "Atra" users out there! So the next question was: "Where are they finding replacement handles when they've contoured their last chin?"
Well... I found the (or at least "an") answer after an internet search and found that "Gillette" is still making what is essentially the "Atra" (and blades) for the Asian markets! It fits my "Atra-compatible" cartridges PERFECTLY! My only complaint (hence, the "4" stars instead of "5") is that it's a "plastic" handle, and thus less sturdy than my decade and a half-old metal handled trusted friend.
An equally pleasant experience was the expedited order! "Impossible Discounts" dispatched the items swiftly and the package arrived (from New Jersey to Hawaii) in unexpectedly fast time! I hope that's everyone's experience. And I can't complain too much about the price, either. Overall, a positive experience. If "I.D." ever comes across metal handled versions of this razor, I'm definitely a repeat customer! Thank you, Guys!
