this soap lathers nicely, and has a rather pleasant musky/soapy sandalwood scent which is not at all overwhelming. it lubricates the skin well, for a great shave. i previously was using col. conks almond shave soap, which also is pretty decent, but i think i like this better. i'm not sure if it matters, but i am using a Merkur Chrome Long-Handled Razor and the Tweezerman Men's Shaving Brush

Good product, lathers well without a leftover that defies rinsing. Mild scent.
Supplier was top notch, prompt shipping, notifications and follow-up.
Would not hesitate to order another.

I've been using a brush and soap for some time, especially soaps from the Colonel. Although Edwin Jagger products are somewhat more expensive than the Colonel's, I have to say that Edwin Jagger Sandalwood soap is a superior product in my opinion. It provides a richer, smoother lather that smells great and allows a great shave. I am a convert to Edwin Jagger and will give their other soaps a try in the future. The increase in price over the Colonel is what I would expect to pay for the better quality.

This soap is fine. I'm new to wet shaving, so my only other experience is Pacific Shaving Company's shaving cream that I picked up in a local supermarket. Compared to the cream, the lather is good and creamy, but dries more quickly. The smell is reminiscent of Black Lion more than something as masculine as I expected. Nothing terrible, I don't think I'd buy it again, but it definitely won't go to waste. Very cheap.
