Could Maybe Use Some DiagramsAug 31, 2010
By Zolton
"Veni. Vidi. Reviewi."
As a married man, I'm constantly in a state of conflict. Left to my own devices, I'm perfectly content to shovel food, guzzle beer, emit various gasses and generally befoul my surroundings like the coothless savage half-shaven chimp I am. But with the missus around, I'm compelled to be on my best behavior -- for the next forty to sixty years. Or until I drop dead of an aneurysm from trying to remember which fork to eat salad with, or which indistinguishable shade of white I'm supposed to paint the bathroom. Clearly, I need some help.
The first step to being on your best behavior is looking your best, so I picked up this 13-piece grooming kit. I'll be honest -- I wasn't entirely sure that I had thirteen parts that NEED grooming. And I have no idea what some of these gadgets are for, exactly. The 'traveling toothbrush' didn't go anywhere on it's own, that I could see. And a 'cuticle pusher' sounds like the tough guy on the street corner my mother warned me about.
Still, with a little trial and error, I put the tools to good use. The nail clippers are great for clearing out ear wax, the lint brush is a super alternative to dandruff shampoo, and the nose hair clippers work just about anywhere that resembles a nostril. Even vaguely. Which is more places than you'd think.
Most importantly, I use the shaving mirror to keep a lookout to make sure no one can see the dangerous and unspeakable grooming experiments being performed. I'm not fabulous yet, but with this kit I think I eventually stand a chance. Remember, Rome wasn't manscaped in a day.

The Chinese have a long way to goMay 09, 2007

When you buy on price, you have to expect that quality is going to be sub-par. That is the case with this grooming kit. It is a Chinese-made set, so you know right away that you are dealing with poor quality components. I wish there were requirements that products be advertised with their point of origin.
The hair trimmer is useless. It makes noise but doesn't actually trim anything.
The fingernail clippers might be salvaged if you have a tool to sharpen them .
The toothbrush is functional, but will break fairly soon.
The mirror is fine, and the case seems to be adequate.
I just wanted a kit to start with and will be replacing many items in it. Since I knew that going in, I cannot be too disapppointed.
I always kick myself for making these decisions, as I re-buy the items that are lacking quality. Just adding to a landfill somewhere.
Americans need to stop shopping on price. We are only happy to pay a cheap price, then when the item breaks a year later, we just shrug and say "It was just a cheap one anyway" Pay for a good one, expect it to last, and save our planet in the meantime.

Grooming on the goMar 11, 2007
By Cable This is a pretty darn good grooming kit. It's got everything you'd need to keep yourself 'in shape' with the exception of the nose hair trimmer, It's not well made. Getting the top off and on to replace batteries is no easy feat. That thing needs work! I'd rather they included an electric razor instead but that's a small point.
I'm glad I bought it and I use all of it all of the time.
CheapAug 28, 2011
By C.M.D. Most of the items in this grooming kit broke within a few uses. Never gone buy this again. Might as well spend more money somewhere else and get a better product. It'll end up cheaper in the long run!
